About Brennan Guntang
Brennan Guntang is a filmmaker, writer, and cinematographer whose work is a reflection of his own interests and passions in his life. An East Carolinian University alumni, Guntang has a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts with a concentration in Film and Video Production. An avid creative, Guntang has always gravitated towards visual storytelling as an outlet for his creative pursuits.
Inspired by directors such as Stanley Kubrick, David Lynch, Steven Spielberg, Alfred Hitchcock, and Akira Kurosawa, Guntang utilizes creative techniques and his driven imagination to tell any story that is itching his brain. His dream is to create a work from each genre of film and to create at least one accurate adaptation of any of his literary inspirations. Above all else, Guntang strives to create work that people from all over the world can enjoy – to create work that transcends culture and social norms in order to connect with people’s soul and humanity.
With themes targeting his own personal struggles from throughout his life, Guntang’s work takes these adversities and creates works for people that identify or relate to those hardships. As a child, Guntang himself had used movies as his own personal escape from the everyday troubles of life. A humanitarian by heart, Guntang now aims to create works that provide the same comforts that he sought when he was young. In his mind, films are the number one way to connect people to each other and to themselves.
